Chiz Escudero binawalan mga testigo na magdala ng gadget

Ipinagbabawal ng Senate impeachment court ang paggamit ng mga gadget ng mga testigong haharap sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ito ang inianunsiyo ng impeachment court nitong Martes, Setyembre 1, kasunod ng online viral photo ni Office of Vice President (OVP) Assistant Chief of Staff Lemuel Ortonio sa social media kung saan mayroon umano itong earpiece habang tumetestigo sa korte.

Nilinaw ni Senate impeachment court presiding officer Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero na ang larawan ni Ortonio na may earpiece ay peke o AI-generated dahil ang totoo ay hikaw ito sa front-fold helix ng kanyang tenga.

“Hindi totoo ‘yung lumalabas na mga litrato na diumano may earpiece si Mr. Ortonio, iyon po ay AI. What he had was a front-fold helix. An ear piercing in the front-fold helix of his ear, not an earpiece,” paliwanag ni Escudero.

Hinggil sa pagbabawal sa testigo na magdala ng gadget, ginamit na batayan ng presiding officer ang Section 21-E ng A.M. No. 241102 ng Supreme Court na pinagbabawal ang pagdadala ng cellphone, tablet at iba pang kahintulad na gadget habang may videoconference, ang US case ni Villareal vs. Texas at ang Sky Development Inc. vs Vistaview sa US Supreme Court.

“Accordingly, no witness while testifying shall possess have access to or use any earpiece, headsets, cellphones, smart watch, smart glasses or any other similar device. Capable of transmitting or receiving information or communication,” ani Escudero. (Dindo Matining)
