ISA si gymnastics world champion Carlos Edriel Yulo ang magbubulsa ng malaking insentibo sa 30th Southeast Asian Games na magtatapos ngayong araw.

Naghari si 19-year-old Yulo sa all-around final at floor exercise events ng men’s artistic gymnastics habang sinikwat nito ang silver medal sa horinzontal bars, parallel bars, pommel horse, still rings at vault.

May mga incentive ang bawat medalyang masisilo ng mga atleta at bukod doon ay dadagdagan pa ito ni President Rodrigo Duterte ng P250,000 sa gold, P150,000 sa silver performance at P100,000 sa bronze.

Nakasaad sa Republic Act 10699 na bibigyan ng cash incentives ang mga nanalo sa SEA Games, tatanggap ang gold medallist ng P300,000, P150,000 at P60,000 sa silver at bronze, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Masayang hinayag ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman at Team Philippines’ Chef de Mission William ‘Butch’ Ramirez ang magandang balita kahapon sa naganap na courtesy call sa Philippine surfing team sa PSC Office sa Manila.

“We were all hoping and praying for this, but it is still a sweet surprise now that it is actually happening. I am so proud of our athletes. All of them deserve our respect and love,” saad ni Ramirez, na tumayong father-figure sa mga delegation mula sa kanilang preparasyon hanggang sa laban.

Lahat ng Filipino medallist sa biennial meet ay imbitado ni Duterte sa December 18 sa Malacañang para ibigay ang cash incentives.

“This is a result of all the sacrifice and hard work of everyone who pushed for chances at victory,” ani Ramirez. “This win proves that we can achieve a lot when we come together united as one team.” (Elech Dawa)
