Universal Health Care dili mag-agad sa PhilHealth – Garin

Gipadayag ni Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin ang daku ang problema sa implementing rules and regulations (IRR) sa Universal Health Care (UHC).

Sa gihimong briefing sa House of Representatives sa Department of Health (DOH) niadtong Miyerkoles, giklaro ni Garin nga dili angayan mag-agad ang PhilHealth sa UHC program.

Iyang gikabalaka nga kung maalkansi ang PhilHealth madamay ug maguba ang maong programa.

Alang niya nga walay problema ang presensya sa PhilHealth sa UHC law, kung sa DOH mag depende ang programa ug dili sa PhilHealth mismo.

“One thing that we personally looked up as the possible big loophole in the UHC Act is the fact that going over the IRR, it seems to imply that UHC is somehow on a big perspective dependent on PhilHealth. I look at this as a very big problem because if PhilHealth collapses, then the whole UHC program goes down the drain,” matud niya.

“Will there be a way either by amendment? It is okay that the PhilHealth is there, but it would be more comfortable that [the] whole law will lie on the DOH and not on PhilHealth,” pagpasabot ni Garin.

Gipadayag usab ni PhilHealth president at chief executive officer Ricardo Morales nga andam ang ahensiya alang sa implementasyon sa programa.

Matud ni Morales, nga aduna silay gitagana nga P147B reserve fund busa maisip nga financially viable ang PhilHealth.

“PhilHealth is financial[ly] viable for the moment and even for the immediate future,” matud niya.
