Tim Cone ayaw na kay Justin Brownlee

EDAD 30 lang si Justin Brownlee, sa tinatakbo ng kanyang career ay tatagal pa siya sa PBA. At magtatagal pa ang samahan nila ng Ginebra.

Mula nang dumating noong 2016 Governors’ Cup bilang replacement kay Paul Harris, may tatlong championship na siya – huli ang PBA Commissioner’s Cup na natapos 4-2 kontra San Miguel Beer nitong Miyerkoles sa MOA Arena.

Hangga’t kaya niyang maglaro, wala siyang balak bitawan ni coach Tim Cone.

Ka-liga na ni Brownlee sa mga import na may tatlong titulo o higit pa sina Sean Chambers na dating resident import ng Alaska at ni Cone, Bobby Parks, Norman Black, Billy Ray Bates, Andy Fields, Cyrus Mann, Snake Jones at Bruce ‘Sky’ King.

“He’s done. We don’t want him anymore,” seryosong sabi ni Cone nang matanong kung ibabalik si Brownlee para depensahan ang Governors Cup title. “Ayaw ko na. Bad attitude na.”

Pero agad sinundan ni Cone ng malutong na tawa ang pahayag. Nagbibiro lang siyempre siya.

“He’s special. We’re gonna keep him as long as he can stay healthy and as long as he continue to play,” dagdag ng coach matapos sikwatin ang 21st title niya sa kabuuan.

Si Brownlee na ang magi­ging sukatan ng ibang mga import ngayon, markado na siya sa ibang mga team.

“I think he’s the measuring stick of all the imports at this point,” lahad ni Cone.

Ibabalik ng Ginebra si Brownlee sa Governors’ Cup na may 6’5” height limit.

“He’s gonna have a huge target on his chest going into the 6-5 conference,” pahabol ni Cone. “Come 6’5” confe­rence, there’s a lot of imports who can match up to him so it’s about how he mixes with his teammates, how he plays with them, how plays with our system. But he’s also proven that he can do that as well with two championships.”

Back-to-back champions si Brownlee at ang Gin Kings sa season-ending conference, may ilang linggong pahinga ang Best Import bago sumabak sa giyera.
