Subukan ang soft tennis!

0 315

Soft Tennis was founded in the Philippines in 1992 by Brigadier General Antonio Tamayo in UPHD. Since then, it became a member of National Sports Association ng Philippine Sports Commission.

Umani na ng maraming medalya ang ating National Soft Tennis Team sa World Championships (3 Bronze Medals in 1995, 2011 at 2015), Asian Championships (1 Silver, 8 Bronze Medals in 2005, 2012 at 2016) at SEA Games (1 Silver, 5 Bronze Medals in 2011).

For 2 consecutive World Championships, nasungkit ni Joseph Arcilla ang Bronze for Men’s Singles in 2011 at noong 2015 naman ay nakuha ni Bien Zoleta-Mañalac ang Bronze for Women’s Singles prior to its first Bronze Medal by Josephine Paguyoin 1995. Ang World Championships only happens every 4 years with 32-39 countries participating in this event.

Kumpara sa Lawn Tennis na may 6 games at 3 sets, ang soft tennis ay may short 4 games with 1 set match that lasts from 20 minutes to an hour. At para sa mga bata that wants to secure their education in college, may sports scholarships para sa Soft Tennis athletes dahil kasama ito sa NCAA. Kasama rin ito sa Batang Pinoy at Philippine National Games.

Taos pusong pasasalamat sa Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Philippine Sports Medicine (Psychology Unit, Nutrition Unit, Rehabilitation Unit and Strength and Conditioning Unit), Shangri-la Fort, Kerry Sports Manila, at Col.

Have a safe trip to China, National Soft Tennis Team!!! Good luck and make us proud!!!
