“TNCs (transport network companies) have pooling options. I suggest the MMDA ask the TNCs first for their data on car pooling availment. They should first have data and evidence, not just the old idea of car pooling. I doubt this option is availed of by a significant many,” sabi ni Abayon.

“I have serious doubts as to the implementability and practicality of car pooling. When Filipinos buy their cars they do so for personal, family, and TNVS (Transport Network Vehicle Services) reasons, not for car pooling with strangers or even neighbors. What the MMDA wants is for Filipinos especially in Metro Manila to do it every day. That takes profound cultural, sociological change and cannot be imposed or legislated,” dagdag nito.
