Perang Hindi Bitin: Magsipag, Mag-negosyo!

Maging ‘enterprising’. Iyan ang motto ng ‘Go Negosyo’ movement na sinimulan nila Joey Concepcion (www.GoNegosyo.net) with Executive Director Ramon Lopez and the Go Negosyo team. Enterprising means having an entrepreneurial mindset and attitude.

Go Negosyo believes that entrepreneurship will help Filipinos get out of poverty. (Kahit ikaw ay isang employee, you can think like an entrepreneur by working in your company as if you own or co-own the business.) I believe in the Go Negosyo cause and that’s why I’ve been supporting it as a Go Negosyo “Angelpreneur” by speaking and mentoring at their Negosem seminars around the country. (Last week, Wednesday, nasa Calapan City, Mindoro ako for the Go Negosyo Mentor Me program co-organized by the DOLE, DTI and the City of Calapan.

There were about 500 participants—maraming mga dating OFW. Excited sila na matuto kung paano magsimula ng negosyo at kung anong tamang mindset ang kailangan.)

If you want to become an entrepreneur, magsimula ka ng maliit na sideline. (Start small but dream big!) Ang daming puwedeng gawin. For example, pag-aralan kung paano kikita sa Internet. Puwede kang kumita gaya ng mga Pinoy na based dito sa Pilipinas, gaya nila Rosemarie Rafael ngwww.SpeedRegalo.com at si Anton Diaz, isang dating manager sa multinational na naging full-time blogger for his www.OurAwesomePlanet.com at si Alvin Tan who at 26 years old is a ‘Youthpreneur’ who started his own mobile app business called Siglo.

Alvin is also the president of his own TV station, called Chinoy TV. So start small and dream big! Kahit mag-umpisa sa pagbenta ng gamit sa ebay or olx, at iba pa.

You can also explore starting with Food Cart franchise gaya ng Potato Corner co-founded by my friend, Jose Magsaysay (another Angelpreneur). As long as you have a location, they can partner with you and offer even a no-cash out franchising agreement. Read more examples from the Go Negosyo book series available at National Bookstore. Sigurado ako that you’ll be even more inspired.

Just remember King Solomon’s advice:

“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
–       Proverbs 14:23

God bless you all!
