Sa 92-91 na panalo noong Martes, itinabla ng eighth-seeded Elite ang twice-to-win advantage ng eliminations topnotc­her Bolts at ipinuwersa ang sudden-death para sa puwesto sa best-of-five semifinals.

Bukod doon, tangka rin ng Blackwater na ma­ging kahuli-hulihang No. 8 team na nagtumba sa No. 1. Powerade ang hu­ling gumawa nito nang talunin ng Tigers ang B-Meg Llamados noong 2011-12 Philippine Cup.

Alam na alam ni coach Leo Isaac ang dapat gawin ng kanyang Elite para mapasama sa record books.

“All we have to do is play team basketball, give our 100 percent and maybe we can be one of those teams which can boot out a no.1 team in the playoffs,” sabi niya.

Siguradong hindi papayag ang Meralco. “We had a twice-to-beat advantage and we’ll try to take advantage of it,” saad ni coach Norman Black.

Kailangang makuha muli ng Bolts ang lakas na kanilang ipinamalas noong elims na tinapos nila sa 9-2 karta.

Ang laro noong Martes ay kasunod ng isang mahirap na 104-101 na panalo ng Meralco sa San Miguel Beer pero para kay Black, hindi dapat maging dahilan ang pagod para sa kanyang team.

“At this point of the conference, you have no right to be tired. Everybody is trying to fight for survival and stay alive,” sabi ni Black. 

Ganoon mismo ang inaasahan ni Blackwater import Henry Walker mula sa Meralco. “Hopefully, everybody gets rest tonight and we go back to the drawing board and come back ready to match their intensity,” wika niya.
