“Workers are calling for a national mechanism of fixing wage and salary based on family living wage. We believe that the division of wages and salary into so many different levels go hand-in-hand with contractualization, and are part of neoliberal policies that gravely affects workers. We are calling for a National Minimum Wage, P750 daily for private sector workers, and P16,000 monthly for public sector workers, ” ayon kay Anne Villasica, spokesperson ng AWU.

“We have learned of the previous meeting with trade and business leaders and DOLE, and note that the solution proposed is the continued use of contractors and service providers where workers will supposedly enjoy their full benefits. We believe that this solution will be a continued loss for workers and economy,” dagdag pa nito.

“We are calling for the regularization of contractual workers in public and private sectors.Workers from national, industry-wide and plant/office-level consider all work is necessary and desirable on the basis that all labor functions are essential on the flow of production, including security, janitorial, customer service, and other rank-and-file positions,” ayon pa kay Villasica.
