NALUKLOK bilang mayor ng San Juan City si former La Salle Green Archer Franci­s Zamora matapos makakuha ng 35,060 votes laban kay Janella Ejercito na may 24, 813 votes sa midterm elections 2019.

Wagi rin bilang bagong Mayor ng Bulacan, Bulacan si former PBA MVP at dating Jose Rizal University coach Vergel Meneses, samantalang mamumuno ulit bilang mayor si Southeast Asian Games fencing gold medalist Richard Gomez sa Ormoc, Leyte.

Uupo naman bilang city councilor sina 1992 PBA MVP Ato Agustin sa San Fernando, Pampanga; SWU coach Yayoy Alcoseba at former PBA players Dondon Hontiveros sa second district ng Cebu City; Yoyong Martirez sa second district ng Pasig; Adamson coach Franz Pumaren sa third district ng Quezon City.

Ngunit hindi lahat ng sports icons ay pinalad makapasok sa gobyerno kagaya na lang ni Gilas Pilipinas head coach at NLEX tactician Yeng Guiao.
