Medical City inimbestigahan sa pekeng anti-rabies vaccine

Inimbestigahan ng Department of Health (DOH) at Bureau of Food and Drugs (FDA) ang Medical City makaraang aminin nito na nagamit nila sa may 2,000 pasyente ang pekeng anti-rabies vaccine.

Kasabay nito, tiniyak kahapon ni DOH spokesman Usec. Rolando Enrique Domingo na napigil at kontrolado na nila ang pagpapamahagi ng nasabing bakuna.

“Na-check na din namin ang lahat ng DOH hospitals at regional officers at kumpirmado na walang nabili ang gobyerno na fake na bakuna,”ayon kay Domingo.

“Wala namang nagkaroon ng adverse effects. So at the worst, what we consider is that it is not an effective vaccine. Wala siyang effect. So lahat ng na-vaccinate dati, kailangan bakunahan ulit,” dagdag pa ni Domingo.
Umaasa si Domingo na hindi maapek­tuhan ang immunization program ng gobyerno dahil ‘isolated’ lamang ito at isang private hospital lamang ang sangkot.

Tiniyak naman ng FDA na sasampahan ng kaso ang Geramil Trading, supplier ng pekeng vaccine at isang wholesale distri­butor licensed ng FDA.

Ang mga naturang pekeng vaccine ay mukhang lehitimo pero nagtataglay ng pekeng registration number.

Nalaman sa Medical City na may 2,000 pasyente ang nabakunahan ng pekeng vaccine at tiniyak na sasampahan nila ng kasong kriminal ang Geramil Trading.

“We did our obligation to tell the public that this thing is happening and I would now like to put the burden on the Department of Health, that this is a public health issue that should be addressed and confronted,” ayon kay The Medical City CEO Dr. Eugenio Ramos.

Ang naturang anti-rabies vaccine ay nagkakahalaga ng P1,700 kada isa.
