INIREKOMENDA ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) si Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) board member Atty. Aileen Lizada na maging kapalit sa puwesto ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales na nakatakdang magretiro sa Hulyo.
Sa kanyang liham na ipinadala sa Supreme Court (SC), sinabi ni CBCP president at Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles na karapat-dapat si Lizada sa posisyon ng Ombudsman dahil may dangal at integridad ito.
“I am writing in enthusiastic support of Atty. Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada as the next Ombudsman, which position I learned will be vacated by Hon. Conchita Carpio Morales in July 2018,” bahagi ng liham ni Valles.
Sinabi pa ni Valles na personal niyang kilala si Lizada na isang ‘crime buster and anti-graft lawyer’ na ipinakita nito noong panahon na siya ay nasa Office of the Ombudsman for Mindanao.
Nabatid na si Lizada ay may 12 taon nagsilbi sa Ombudsman sa Mindanao.
“I know firsthand that she performs with composure in challenging situations, and remains resolves and steadfast when it comes to doing what is right, legal, and moral,” ayon kay Valles.
