Lady Gaga nagsisi sa duet kay R. Kelly
Pagkatapos manalo ni Lady Gaga bilang best actress sa National Board of Review para sa pelikulang “A Star Is Born,” pinutakti siya ng mga tanong tungkol sa naging duet niya sa controversial R&B singer na si R. Kelly.
Umere na sa Lifetime ang docuseries na “Surviving R. Kelly” at tungkol ito sa confession ng ilang underage girls na inabuso sexually ng singer.
Lumabas din sa docuseries ang mga singer na sina John Legend and Chance the Rapper para suportahan ang mga kababaihan na inabuso ni R. Kelly.
Ngayon ay nagsisisi na raw si Lady Gaga na pumayag siyang gumawa ng duet with R. Kelly. Ito ay ang song na “Do What U Want” na mula sa Artpop album ni Gaga na ni-release noong 2013.
“I stand behind these women 1000%, believe them, know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously.
“What I’m hearing about the allegations against R. Kelly is absolutely horrifying and indefensible.
“As a victim of sexual assault myself, I made both the song and video at a dark time in my life, my intention was to create something extremely defiant and provocative because I was angry and still hadn’t processed the trauma that had occurred in my own life. The song is called ‘Do Want U Want (With My Body),’ I think it’s clear how explicitly twisted my thinking was at the time,” tweet ni Lady Gaga.
