Kalibre ni JC masusubukan ng Ph 5, Guiao

KUMBINSIDO si coach Yeng Guiao na nangi­ngibabaw ang kalibre ni Jordan Clarkson sa 18th Asian Games, kahit ikumpara sa players ng continental powerhouse China.

“Wala pa akong nakita,” ani Guiao. “I’ve watched Korea, China, Japan, Iran. I don’t think skill-wise may tatapat sa kanya.”

Nagkaroon na ng full scrimmage ang Team Pilipinas kasama ang Cleveland guard, kaya nakilatis na ng head coach ang Fil-Am na naging kakampi ng dalawa sa itinuturing na greatest players of all time ng NBA na sina Kobe Bryant ng Lakers­ at LeBron James ng Cavaliers.

“Nadagdagan ang quickness natin sa pagdating ni Clarkson,” dagdag ng NLEX coach. “Jordan’s mentality is he can control the game just by his decision-making, not to mention his skills and physical abilities.”

Sa murang edad na 26, mataas daw ang basketball IQ ni Clarkson.

“If you give him the ball and make him create, it’s either he will find the open guy or he will score,” litanya pa ni Guiao. “A lot of PBA imports don’t get to that level. Mayroon silang physical skills, mayroon silang size and mayroon silang abilities. Pero at a young age, it’s really the mental aspect of the game, how he makes decisions, how he chooses his options, I think that’s the difference.”

Masusubukan kung aanihin ng Team Pilipinas ang dibidendo ng pagdating ni Clarkson laban sa Chinese mamayang 5:30 pm (oras sa Manila) sa Jakarta.

Makakatapat niya ang mga kapwa-NBA player na sina Zhou Qi ng Houston Rockets at Ding Yanyuhang ng Da­llas Mavericks.
