Susundin ng Grab Philippines ang refund­ sa kanilang mga pasahe­ro na inutos ng P­hilippine Competition Commission (PCC).

Sa press briefing na ginanap kahapon, sinabi ni Grab Philippines president Brian Cu na umabot sa P5 milyong refund ang inutos ng PCC na ibalik sa kanilang may tatlong milyong pasahero.

Aniya, mangangahu­lugan ito ng P1 hanggang mahigit P100 na refund depende sa dami ng pagsakay ng pasahe­ro.

“If we take P5 million over 3 million (riders),­ the average that the passenger would get is around P1.50. There are some that will get below peso, there are other who will get over a hundred pesos,” ayon kay Cu.

Aniya, umaabot lamang sa 3.2 milyong rider mula Pebrero hanggang Mayo nga­yong taon ang pasok sa kanilang dapat na i-refund.

“The amount each rider will get will be proportionate to the amount that they spent during that time period. If you are a rider (who) spent P1,000, you should get 10 times more than a rider who just paid for P100. So as much as possible we want it to be proportionate,” paliwanag naman ni Atty. Miguel Aguila, abogado ng Grab Philippines.

Sinabi pa ni Cu na walang balak ang Grab na iapela ang ipinataw na multa sa kanila dahil may hanggang Disyembre 14 pa umano sila para bayaran ito.

Matatandaang pinagmulta ng PCC ang Grab ng P23.45 milyon at inatasan din na i-refund sa kanilang pasahero ang may P5 milyong halaga dahil sa sobra-sobrang panini­ngil.

Lumalabas kasi sa pagmo-monitor ng PCC na pinamumunuan ni Chairman Arsenio Balisacan na hindi pa rin umano sapat ang ginagawa ng Grab na gawing mas patas ang pasahe nila at iginiit na naging ‘virtual monopoly’ na ang kompan­ya nang mabili nito ang Uber. (Dolly ­Cabreza)
