“We got P30 billion from the Department of Education (DepEd) for their school building program particularly those with problem sa site, no available space, no vacant lot, so any area na mayroong napo-foresee na magiging problem sa pagpapatayo ng bagong classroom or building we were able to crave out P30 billion from that budget,” pahayag ni House Committee on Appropriations chairman Karlo Nograles sa press conference kahapon.

“Then apart from that we were able to raise P6 billion from various scholarship programs from SUCs (State Universities and Colleges) and CHED (Commission on Higher Education), and then the DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology), may mga various reduction kami sa projects ng DICT… so all in all were are able to raise P40 billion for free higher education,” ani Nograles.
