“As it is, this claim of water crisis is alarming, even highly suspect. However, the China loan and possible displacement of indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands and the harmful effects of this project to our environment, is also a cause for even more concern,” pahayag ni Zarate.

“This so-called water crisis will not be solved with the government continuing its privatization policy, that caters mainly to the profit-seeking big business. What we need now is the nationalization of the water industry and the implementation of a pro-people water agenda,” dagdag ni Zarate.

“Instead of the government, holding the private concessionaire accountable for its gross failure to serve its clients, this callous regime has the gall to use public misery for their onerous interest, that is to grab multi-billion peso funding for a mega dam project which was opposed by the people for many decades,” paghahayag ni Casilao.

“As if on cue, in the midst of this unwarranted water problem, Sec. Dominguez is again floating the Laiban Dam project, the parent of the Kaliwa-Kanan dam proposals, that has been on and off since the Martial Law years that would evict the Dumagats and Remontados indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands,” ayon naman kay senatoriable Neri Colmenares.
