Davao filmmaker wagi sa Int’l Emmy
Ang filmmaker mula sa Davao na si Breech Asher Harani ang nanalo kamakailan sa International Emmy World Television Festival in New York City noong nakaraang November 23.
Natanggap ni Harani ang JCS International Young Creatives Award for his short film, “Next to Me”.
Pinapakita sa short film ang struggles ng mga young Muslims “who were displaced by the battle of Marawi and the young heroes who stood for them.”
Ang napanalunan na JCS International Young Creatives Award ni Harani ay para sa one-minute video competition “for peace designed to discover, recognize and foster young talent from around the world while creating a global conversation around peace.”
Noong 2012 pa sinimulan ni Harani ang paggawa ng short video contents in narrative, experimental and documentary forms para sa kanyang Alexandrite Pictures studio.
Kabilang sa mga short experimental films na gawa niya ay tungkol sa LGBT discrimination titled “Through the Mirror”, the first Filipino film to receive the Dorothy Slipper Award for Best Short Film at the Merlinka International Queer Film Festival in Serbia and the Best Short Film Award at the Springfield LGBT Film Festival in Massachusetts, USA in 2014.
