Madadagdagan ang mga cash incentives at allowances ng mga accredited Barangay Health Workers (BHW) sa buong bansa.

Inihain ni Deputy Speaker at Marikina Rep. Romero Quimbo ang House Bill 43 na pumupuntiryang am­yendahan ang Section 6 ng Republic Act 7883 o ang “Barangay Health Workers’ Benefits and Incentives Act of 1995” upang mai-update at mabigyan ng mga benepisyo ang mga BHW sa kanilang kontribusyon sa iba’t ibang health care programs ng pamahalaan.

“As front liners, our Barangay Health Workers are entrusted with primary health care delivery but the benefits and incentives they receive are not commensurate with the heavy responsibilities they bear,” ani Quimbo.

Sa pamamagitan ng panukala, ang mga aktibong health workers ay makakatanggap ng buwanang honoraria na P4,000. May dagdag din na P2,000 cash gift tuwing Disyembre.

“BHWs who have served for ten years and above shall also be entitled a separation pay of P2,000 for every year of service.

Furthermore, a disability benefit of P2,000 for every year of service shall also be given to health workers who sustained injury or sickness arising out of and in the course of perfor­ming their duties,” ayon sa panukala.
