Caluag bigong madepensahan ang Asiad BMX title

BIGO si Filipino-Ame­rican BMX rider Daniel Patrick Caluag na duplikahin ang gold medal finish niya sa 2014 Incheon, South Korea Asiad nang magkasya lang sa bronze medal kahapon sa 18th Asian Games sa Pulo Mas ­International BMX Center sa Jakarta, Indonesia.­

Kapos ng dalawang segundo para sana sa back-to-back na ginto ang 31-anyos na siklista sa pinadyak na 35.842 segundo at nagkasya sa tanso.

“I am happy with the medal but I would have liked a better color but any medal for the Philippines­ is definitely a good result especially in a world date like this,” sambit ng siklista.

Naagaw ni Japanese rider Nagasako Yoshitaku ang gold medal sa isinumiteng 33.669 oras, samantalang silver medal ang nasikwat ni Saputra Gusti Bagus ng host Indonesia sa oras na 34.314.

“I was hoping they would expend all their energy. They actually saved their energy just like I did,” ayon pa sa Olympian na si Caluag.

“I’ve been putting the work in, started my preparations in January and eight months in of waking up five or four in the mor­ning, whatever workout I need to do, I’ll get it done.” 

Tumapos naman sa fifth place si Fil-Am Sienna Fiennes sa women’s side ng parehong event sa inilistang 43.663 oras.
