SUMAILALIM na rin ang Chevron sa fuel marking sa Bureau of Customs (BOC) at SICPA SA-SGS Philippines.

Ang live fuel marking ng Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer ng Caltex brand ng mga top-quality fuel, lubricant, at petroleum pro­duct, ay isinagawa kamakailan sa kanilang import terminal sa San Pascual, Batangas.

Dahil dito, ang CPI na ang naging kauna-unahan sa tinaguriang ‘big 3’ oil companies na tumalima sa fuel mar­king requirement na ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan.

Ang naturang fuel marking acti­vity ay isinagawa noong Nobyembre 11, 2019 at sinaksihan ni BOC Deputy Commissioner for Enforcement Teddy Raval at iba pang opis­yal at kinatawan mula sa fuel mar­ker consortium, SICPA SA-SGS Phi­lippines, at CPI.

“The other oil companies with unmarked fuel are encouraged to do the same. They still have three months to comply. We will strictly enforce and impose penalties as mandated by the law,” ani Raval.

Nabatid na layunin ng naturang fuel marking activity ng pamahalaan na sugpuin ang oil smuggling sa bansa, sa pamamagitan ng paglalagay ng molecular marker sa mga imported, manufactured at refined fuel product gaya ng gasolina, diesel, at kerosene.
