Those who will only be meted the death penalty will be the poor ones,” pahayag ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III.

“Only for high-level drug traffickers I will support, not just the regular drug traffickers,” dagdag pa nito.

“I’m happy that he appealed to Congress for the passage of the death penalty law for drug trafficking because my death penalty bill has been languishing at the referred committee for one year already without actions taken,” ani Dela Rosa.

“The President’s appeal will give this law a big boost,” sambit pa nito.

“Reimposition of the death penalty is a deterrent to crime and an encouragement for victims to come forward and seek justice,” ani Lacson.

“Just like the Anti Terrorism Act of 2020, timing is of no moment when we are dealing with heinous crimes and crimes against humanity,” wika pa nito.

“The House also assures that the death penalty measures will be deliberated on thoroughly,” ayon kay Romualdez. (Dindo Matining/Eralyn Prado)
