Atletang Pinoy hanap ng SilanganFit

Andaming nagsusulputang gym, fitness studios, at CrossFit boxes. At sa daming bago, I was fortunate to stumble upon SilanganFit sharing the same vision of bringing fitness to everyone with a twist of patriotism.

Ipinaliwanang ni Atty. Emma Cabochan, one of the founders ng SilanganFit, ang kanilang advocacy at kung bakit SilanganFit ang napili nilang pangalan, “Our advocacy of inclusion in Philippine athleticism is rooted in high regard for Filipino athletes. While the respective backgrounds of our team are varied, one common denominator is a ray of patriotism – we have an avid triathlete supporting Philippine competitions, a part-founder of the weight lifting club of the University of the Philippines, among others. We also believe that Filipinos do not really prioritize health and fitness – we want to change that. We want to make health, fitness and athleticism mainstream. To speak closer to the heart, we chose not only a Filipino name for our gym, but also Filipino names for our original workouts and other gym events.”

Bukod sa makabayan na pangalan, what makes SilanganFit special is that they provide a very inclusive environment. They reach out to people who needs alternative training tulad ng mga may injury, persons with disabilities at ng mga may special needs. Mayroon silang cross training, weightlifting and gymnastics classes.

“Since SilanganFit is basically our dream and advocacy come to life, the gym’s main thrust is our strong belief of inclusion in Philippine athleticism. We stress to our members and in all our communications – SilanganFit was founded by the idea that fitness is and should be for everyone. This being said, we find importance in the value of inclusion – no discrimination and no judgments. In walking the talk, we have SilanganFit Athletes that we support, such as Norberto Natividad – a member of the Philippine Para-OCR Team, a rower for the dragon boat team Aqua Fortis, a professional swimmer, a triathlete, and a polio survivor,” ika nga ni Atty. Emma Cabochan.

Inaasam ng mga founders na madagdagan pa ang mga classes at ang makatulong sa pagdevelop ng atletang Pilipino.

Happy First Anniversary, SilanganFit!!! Naway dumami pa ang branches niyo at lumaki pa ang SilanganFit community.
