Ang United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) candidate for senator and Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile has expressed full support for the resolution of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to keep major thoroughfares in Metro Manila off limits to political motorcades.

Comelec chairman Sixto Brillantes had earlier stated that the move is part of the poll body’s effort to spare motorists and commuters from the horrendous traffic that is caused by motorcades of political candidates who pass through EDSA and other major thoroughfares.

“I am sure that this Comelec rule will be respected and followed by all the parties and their respective candidates.

After all, those on the campaign trail surely realize that motorists and commuters will not support those who cause inconvenience and loss of time and gas while they’re on the road,” Enrile pointed out.
